Q&A with the Ambassador _

Why Romania?

What made you choose Romania as your study destination?

I chose Romania because I found a study program that matched my interests and career goals. It felt right to pursue what I love in an affordable place. The TAS scholarship also helped make it possible.

How has your experience in Romania been so far?

Tell us about your studies, daily life, and what stands out most to you. (In what ways has this experience supported your
academic or professional growth?)

It’s been a beautiful journey! I've found incredible support from professors who are passionate about what they teach. Life in Brașov is both peaceful and vibrant, the perfect mix for a student. From intense study sessions to laughing with friends from all over the world, the greatest part of my experience has been the people and their incredible hospitality. It’s more than just being friendly, it’s a genuine, heartfelt warmth. Romanians have this beautiful way of making you feel like family without a second thought. It’s an experience that has fundamentally shaped my global perspective and confidence.

What do you think about your study programme, instructors (teachers, staff), and university facilities?

How do they compare with what you expected before coming here?

My program is well-structured and delivered by instructors who are both knowledgeable and deeply dedicated. The university’s facilities have exceeded my expectations, from the well-equipped library with access to both Romanian and international academic resources to quiet study spaces perfect for focused work. The student services are responsive and helpful, especially when it comes to administrative guidance or academic support. I also appreciate the university’s online platforms, which make it easy to access course materials and stay connected with instructors and classmates.

What have you learned in Romania — academically, professionally, or personally?

What’s something valuable you can truly say “I learned that in Romania”?

I’ve become a more adaptable learner and a more effective communicator across diverse contexts, a more confident presenter of my ideas. Studying in Romania helped me strengthen my critical thinking and taught me how to work with people from different cultures. I’ve grown both professionally and personally, learning to manage challenges, stay focused, and step into new situations with confidence. The most valuable thing I can truly say I learned in Romania is that true growth begins where your comfort zone ends.

What do you enjoy most about living in Romania?

(It could be about the culture, people, food, cities, or your university experience)

I enjoy the stunning beauty and calm rhythm of life in Brașov. One of my favorite times of the year is March, when women are celebrated through the tradition of Mărțișor, a small red and white string symbolizing spring and good luck. Along with Women’s Day, it creates a beautiful atmosphere of appreciation. It truly feels like a month dedicated to being seen, valued, and celebrated.

Do you have any advice for future international students considering studying in Romania?

What would you say to someone thinking about studying in Romania?

Yes, absolutely! My advice is to come with an open mind and be ready to embrace a different way of life. Romania is a beautiful country, so travel as much as you can and do not limit yourself to just your university city. In class, do not be shy. Ask questions and seek help when needed. Also, try to join student organizations. The more you connect with people, the richer and more meaningful your experience will be.
