Program description

Trains specialists in the domain of national system including all lands and real estates.The Land and Cadastre Program emphasizes theoretical principles as well as practical applications of advanced surveying techniques and related computational procedures, geodesy, cartography, map compilation and photogrammetry, business aspects of operating a surveying firm, geographic information systems (GIS) and planning and conducting surveys. Surveying engineering is the science of making precise measurements of the Earth's surface with the aid of sophisticated optical and electronic instruments. A challenging and satisfying profession, surveying engineering is of vital importance for civil engineering, mining industry, land and construction monitoring, exploration, conservation, preservation of natural resources and land development. The Land Surveying and Cadastre Program provides an educational experience that prepares our students for the challenges of the surveying profession that they will encounter during their professional lives and aims to produce a graduate skilled in the science of measurement, in the practical issues of land planning, and in the legal issues associated with land ownership and resource management.
