Overview

Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning CLUJ-NAPOCA

Education structure: 1st and second integrated cycles, which include the Master’s

degree; preparation spans over 12 semesters and implies acquiring 360 academic

credits. Defining the content of the curricula has followed the recommendations

stipulated by the UNESCO Chart – UIA and the Directive 85/384/EEC regarding the

formation in the field of architecture ; also, Article 46 of Directive 2005 /36/EC. The

organization of the curricula aims to a progressive assimilation of professional abilities

and acquiring the qualifications necessary in the practice of architecture. The

education is built upon the idea of a formative evolution of the student, while

permanently updating the objectives and methods. A progressive growth of the

complexity of the study problematic, while diversifying the didactic methodology as

well as the professional options, by offering many formative routes, establishing a

balanced ratio among the 18 components of distinct professional fields in the

architectural formation and integrating the education on practice with theoretical

thinking – in what concerns the object and phenomenon of architecture.
