Informatics - Distance Learning (Bachelor, 3 years) addresses those who enjoy programming and using computers, from websites or databases to desktop or mobile applications, but do not necessarily desire to pursue a career in engineering; moreover, due to employment reasons, typical students cannot afford the time to attend on a regular basis. Students can get the same Informatics degree, with the same academic staff. The students will acquire skills to solve real-life problems by using computer programs, or by creating new ones. They will know about using basic concepts of informatics, and dedicated computer programs, software design with several different programming languages and environments, computer networks. Despite topics being common to computer engineering, students at Informatics are more focused on using tools and high-level management of systems and networks rather than their design and implementation.Students are required to attend only during weekends, so they must study more on their own and over the internet. The students are encouraged to do teamwork as well, as many real-life situations in an IT environment base their outcome on collaboration between many. The program is taught in Romanian
