American Studies

The American Studies undergraduate program offers you the opportunity to study the English language and a complementary language (chosen based on available offerings) from the perspective of cultural studies.

American Studies represents an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary academic and professional program. The program responds to the need for democratic reforms, as well as the interest of Romanian society in the American experience and the creation of new opportunities in the labor market in relation to the role played by the United States in the contemporary world and the development of Romanian-American relations.

American Studies means, first and foremost, being in the midst of fundamental transformations that have been taking place for over a decade in the humanities and then in the interaction between them, the social sciences, the natural sciences, and the impact of communication technology.

To this end, the program offers courses anchored in various areas such as culture and literature, pop culture, art history, society and communication, media and film, history and politics, political science, and philosophy.
