Textile arts - textile design

The textile arts - textile design curriculum aims at training students' creative resources in relation to the textile material. The main factor generating this approach between creation and matter is the tradition of the autochthonous artistic education. By its qualified staff, the department provides the theoretical, practical and technical means for the artistic expression in the textile environment, the aesthetic expression in the decorative repertoire using the techniques and the textile material, as well as training the creativity in the textile design for the interior decor and the textile design for clothing. The textile arts - textile design department is the only profile department in Romania that makes available specialized laboratories and the qualified technical staff. Thus the students have the advantage to benefit from the specialty practice in the tapestry-textures laboratory, in the laboratory of serigraphic printing and in the digital printing laboratory. They have the possibility to know techniques and textile technologies, to experiment directly with the material, as well as to make artistic works or to check textile design projects by making a prototype.
