Theatre and Performing Arts

In the year 2000, the steps necessary to organize doctoral-type education at the Theater Department of the "George Enescu" National University Iași, Department that was functioning at that time within the Faculty of Composition, Musicology, Music Pedagogy and Theater, were started. According to the Regulations of that date, students could choose between two profiles: Theater and Performing Arts. From the academic year 2007/2008, in the context of affiliation to the Bologna System, the Regulation underwent a series of changes, the main one being related to the inclusion of two types of doctorate at the level of the Theater and Performing Arts Domain: scientific doctorate and professional doctorate, a distinction that is maintained and today.

The research directions of the Doctoral School of Theater Iași can be summarized in:

-Continuation of research aimed at the rediscovery, reevaluation and assumption of classical values

- Research as a eulogy of inter-disciplinarity

- Rallying to a common European cultural fund

- Interest in meta-research

-The dynamics of the Iași Theater Faculty also involve certain research directions
