Language and Literature - Modern Language and Literature

The Bachelor program in French Language and Literature provides a comprehensive survey of French culture and civilisation, the in-depth practical and theoretical study of French language, as well as the analysis of the great literary works and literary periods. Graduates of the program have the opportunity to work as teachers, join the numerous francophone companies in Transylvania or pursue a career in the cultural field.   

The specialization can be combined with English as a segment B language. The mandatory courses follow the historical evolution of English and American literature (the Medieval and Renaissance English literature, the literature of the Enlightenment, the poetry of the 18th century and Romanticism, the literature of the Victorian Era, the English literature of the 20th century, contemporary English literature, American literature) and developing students’ knowledge of traditional linguistics (phonetics, lexicology, morphology, syntax, language history) and theoretical linguistics (formal semantics, generative grammar).
