Language and Literature - Modern Language and Literature

The Russian language and literature program offers students the opportunity to explore the Russian language through the practical courses (conversation, grammar, and translations), the theoretical courses of contemporary Russian (phonetics, lexicology, morphology, syntax) and the Russian literature, culture and civilization courses. Graduates of this program can pursue a career in teaching and research, as well as translation, editing and redaction work.

The specialization can be combined with German as a segment B language. The department for German studies in Cluj-Napoca is internationally recognized, where courses are taught exclusively in German. Many different projects are carried out with students and scientific conferences are organized annually. The department also has its own publication series. Students are offered a number of scholarship opportunities. In addition, the work of the nine local lecturers is supported by guest lecturers from the DAAD and the OeAD.
