Bachelor programme (BA/ BSc)

Faculty of Letters CLUJ-NAPOCA

Program description

Chinese Language and Literature - Italian Language and Literature
The Specialization of Chinese Language and Literature is aimed at supporting those who wish to study Chinese language, literature and culture at a Bachelor of Arts level in a specialized institution.
The primary objective of the Chinese Language and Literature specialization is to develop not only a linguistic competence which would allow the students' fluent use of the Chinese language, but also the constitution of a cultural background which would aid them in their future endeavour of developing their Sinology studies. The courses are being taught both in Romanian and in Chinese. Because of the highly fruitful collaboration between the Department of Asian Languages and Literatures and the Confucius Institute within UBB, students are given the opportunity to study the Chinese language, literature, and culture at different universities in China.
In the context of current economic dynamics and the increasing role China has to play in the international agenda, the specialization is oriented towards providing a wide array of specialized vocabularies, such as economic, political, legal, didactic, journalistic, and so on, which would allow graduates multiple opportunities of employment at the end of their studies.

The specialization can be combined with Italian as a segment B language. Students of Italian will gain profound knowledge and critical analysis capacity in the field of Italian Literature, Linguistics and Philology, as well as the capacity to use the Italian language in written and oral contexts, in a variety of professional settings.
