Language and Literature - Modern Language and Literature

The Japanese Language and Literature section intends to answer the necessity of diversifying the academic offer, a need acutely felt in the Transylvanian space, which previously lacked the possibility of systematically and thoroughly studying an Asian language and culture. The Japanese Language and Literature section is structured over six semesters and its aim is the study of Japanese language, literature and culture, offering both general knowledge and specialized knowledge. At the end of the three years of study, the students will have acquired the abilities needed for either postgraduate research, or a career in teaching, in the field of interpretation and translation, or in diplomacy. At present, the Japanese Language and Literature specialization grants opportunities of studying and perfecting oneself at foreign universities, in Europe and Japan.

The specialization can be combined with Finnish as a segment B language. The graduates of Finnish language and literature studies on the one hand will have a workable knowledge in the field of Finnish language and culture, and on the other hand they will have the necessary skills in order to be employed in fields typically covered by the graduates of the Faculty of Letters of UBB: in language schools, in the cultural life, in the media, at communication companies and in other related fields.
