Bachelor programme (BA/ BSc)

Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities SIBIU

Program description

The Social Work study program has been part of ULBS since 2005. Its mission is to train qualified specialists who promote social justice, equality, and respect for diversity. The program emphasizes the development of analytical skills based on empirical research and sound methodology, as well as the ability to assess and intervene at all social levels—individual, family, group, community, and society. It also aims to build capacities for designing, implementing, and evaluating social work projects and policies.

Graduates are equipped to critically address problems, apply holistic and socially just approaches, manage crises, deliver services in diverse communities, and collaborate across professions. They develop empathy, communication skills, computer literacy, professional identity, and networks. They assess and refer users, provide counseling, plan and review services, manage ethical issues, promote rights and inclusion, advocate for users, and support social change—while engaging in continuous professional development and upholding quality standards in practice.
