Quantum Computing

Master programme (Ma/ MSc)

Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers BUCUREŞTI

Program description

Quantum computers have increasingly significant implications across all branches of information technology, redefining standards from security (thus establishing post-quantum cryptography) to the Church-Turing thesis, and bringing viable models for classically difficult problems to a new European communication infrastructure. As these changes permeate through abstraction levels, imposing new programming and system design paradigms in the field of quantum computing and quantum communications, expertise in this domain represents a unique asset that can be leveraged in any niche. The QC program is dedicated especially to engineers and professionals in the field of computer science, as well as mathematicians or physicists with a basic background in computer programming and algorithms in general.

Graduates of this program will have the necessary knowledge to engage, on one hand, in emerging fields of computer science such as networks, cryptography, machine learning, or parallel and distributed computing architectures, and on the other hand, in the use and integration of quantum technologies. With the acquired knowledge, graduates will play a key role and facilitate the transition of companies/agencies, where they are or will be employees, towards quantum technologies.
