Business Information Systems

The study programme corresponding to the specialization of Business Information Systems (BIS) aims to train economists with an advanced computer systems background. Graduates can work at the highest levels of management in various specialisations in the field of informatics with companies that use computer systems extensively. On the other hand, the number of disciplines in economics is sufficient to allow them to fill managerial positions in any other company department.
There are four main directions this study programme focuses on:
1. Programming/design (by means of disciplines such as Fundamentals of Programming, Algorithms and Data Structures, Java-Objects, Integrated Development Environment - .NET, Business Analysis)
2. Web (Graphics – web design, Java Script, Web Page Design, Semantic Web)
3. Databases (Economic Databases and Advanced Elements of Economic Databases)
4. Enterprise and additional services (Computer Networks, Operation Systems, Testing, Software Engineering, Integrated ERP Systems, Artificial Intelligence)
This educational trajectory can then be continued with one of the three (full time) master-level programmes of our department, namely: E-Business (focused on web technologies and distribution systems), Business Analytics and Information Management (focused on the Enterprise aspect) and Business Modelling and Distributed Computing (in English, focused on research).
