Overview

Automation and Applied Informatics

Bachelor programme (BA/ BSc)

Faculty of Hydrotechnics Bucharest

Program description

Automation and applied informatics is the main specialisation within the Systems Engineering domain. Automatics or automatic control is a branch of science and technology that deals with the study of methods for designing control systems and using them to make technical processes, machines and equipment work without direct human participation or with as little human intervention as possible. Computer science is the science of information processing, which is nowadays carried out with the help of computers. Applied computer science is another modern tool in which information represented in the form of models or knowledge about the structure and operation of a process is processed using software algorithms to control the behaviour of the process so as to achieve the desired performance.
The programme of study " Automation and applied informatics" has a mission designed to have both a specific didactic and a scientific component. Graduation from this programme provides young specialists with the professional foundation that enables them to work in all industrial branches where control systems are present, in design, research, services and education.
