Sociology

“Why study sociology? Because it trains your analytical thinking. Because it allows you to observe man from an integrative perspective in his natural environment. Because it helps you understand that sociology also means psychology, mathematics, biology, computer science, law, economics, religion. That everything is interconnected. Because it allows you to observe how all aspects of the social world work, in the center of which man gravitates. Because it becomes the answer to any "why?", "How?", "For what?" (Diana, Sociology student, 2019). The Sociology study program has an existence of 30 years at the West University of Timișoara, enjoying recognition both nationally and internationally. Through the content of the subjects taught, based on current topics, recent research and bibliographic references of high scientific value, but also through pedagogical approaches focused on the needs of students, teachers serving this program aim to train competitive specialists to make compared to the requirements of both the Romanian and the international labor market.
