Veterinary medicine

The Veterinary Medicine programme offers future graduates the opportunity to work in areas such as animal health, public health, consumer and environmental protection, animal husbandry, human food safety, trade relations and the maintenance of ecological balance. They may also provide specialist veterinary advice on pets and rental animals, as well as animal welfare and environmental protection. Diplomas issued upon graduation are formally recognised in the European Union according to Directive 2005/36/CE with the subsequent amendmnents and additions regarding the recognition of professional qualifications. 

Career opportunities:
Graduates who hold the title of veterinary doctors may join various professional associations as full members and may also join the College of Veterinary Doctors to obtain the right to practice the profession. The graduates may work in veterinary practices and clinics for pets or farm animals, individual veterinary practices for specialty technical consultancy, sanitary - veterinary laboratories for animal health and food control, research units, sanitary - veterinary local/ central administration centres, veterinary pharmacies, veterinary drug manufacturing and distribution firms, fodder manufacturing firms, and the like.
