Program description

The AUTOMATION AND APPLIED COMPUTER SCIENCE (AIA) study program was established in 1991 and accredited in 1998. Since 2002, the program has been offered both as a full-time and a part-time study option. This program trains automation engineers for the following fields:

  • Monitoring and automatic control of industrial processes and installations, especially in the chemical, petrochemical, oil, energy, and machinery industries;

  • Use of industrial robots and flexible robotic production lines;

  • Design, operation, and maintenance of automation equipment.

The continuous modernization of industry, through the widespread introduction of computer-based control of technological processes, the highly interdisciplinary nature of the program, and the broad scope of professional activities ensure a strong degree of independence from national and international economic fluctuations, providing optimistic prospects for professional development.

The program’s specific features, relevance, and advantages explain the outstanding professional results of its students and the strong interest from high school graduates in enrolling in Automation and Applied Computer Science.
