BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FACULTY PROGRAM

The ,,Justinian Patriarhul” Faculty of Orthodox Theology operates within the University of Bucharest and is coordinated by both the Romanian Orthodox Church and by the University of Bucharest. Starting with the academic year 2005 – 2006, the structure of the academic theological education was modified so as to meet the requirements entailed by Romania’s accession to the European Community and to comply with the principles of the Bologna Charta. Thus, the studies were organized in a single domain, that of orthodox theology, with four specializations: Orthodox Pastoral Theology, Orthodox Teaching Theology, Orthodox Theology Social Assistance and Holy Art, all of which have a term of 3 years and conclude in an Academic Degree (the Orthodox Pastoral Theology is still 4 years), 2 years – Master’s Degree and 3 years – Ph.D. Degree.
