The curriculum of the Medical Physics Programme provides a basic training in physics, higher mathematics background, and prepares students to qualify as medical physicists. The curriculum contains the fundamental course units in physics (55%) e.g., Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, Optics, Atomic and Molecular Physics, Nuclear Physics, Solid State Physics, mathematics (30 %) e.g., Real and Complex Analysis, and Equations of Mathematical Physics, specific courses (10 %) e.g., Fundamentals of biophysics, Biochemistry, Anatomy and physiology, Bioinformatics. Modeling of biological processes, and Bioengineering, and auxiliary course units (5 %). The students graduating Medical Physics can work as Physics teachers in primary and secondary schools, research assistants in research institutes, hospitals, quality assurance agencies in health or environment. A higher training by master programme and by doctoral studies in Medical Physics will allow students to: work in medical field, contributing to the correct diagnosis of diseases and their treatment using techniques of high sensitivity and accuracy; teach Physics in high schools and universities or to find jobs in research institutes, quality assurance agencies.
