Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures Bucharest

Program description

The APPLIED MODERN LANGUAGES Department is the third study programme of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, the curriculum of which covers a three-year study cycle, based on the credit transfer system (180 ECTS, 6 semesters). The curriculum is designed so as to focus on the need to train students so that they could master interdisciplinary abilities, at the interface between philology on the one hand and economics and law on the other hand. Thus, the curriculum covers three types of courses: core courses (language, civilisation, practical course), specialised courses (economics, law, translation theory and practice) and complementary courses which are either optional or elective.
The curriculum also includes one module of practical activities conducted in compliance with an institutional agreement concluded between the University of Bucharest and various institutions, which makes it possible for students to acquire the practical skills required for a future career in central or local administration.

The main language is English and a secondary language can be chosen, from the following: French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Czech, Polish, Slovak, Croatian.
