History

The general objective of this programme is of training specialists in the field of History, who could become teachers in educational institutions or scientific researchers in this field. The specialization has specific objectives: acquirement of history fundamental concepts; getting a general training and special knowledge about history’s different periods; acquirement of rules and principles of research methodology in history; development of students’ ability to make critical analysis and have synthesis abilities. The specialization ensures the acquirement of knowledge in History, as well as the ability to apply and transmit it in a creative manner. Students will acquire the following professional competencies: identification of information about the historical past; establishment of facts based on information from historical sources and outside historical sources; use of specific methods of an auxiliary science to history (Cyrillic/Slavic/Latin paleography etc., epigraphy) at a basic level; use of fundamental concepts and methods of at least one other social or humanistic science.
