Energy Engineering and Nuclear Technologies

Bachelor programme (BA/ BSc)

Faculty of Energy Engineering Bucharest

Program description

The Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Energy Engineering and Nuclear Technologies (ETN) prepares specialists for the operation, design, management and research of conventional and nuclear energy systems. It combines a solid foundation in energy engineering with specialised knowledge required for careers in the nuclear sector and for further studies at master’s level. Its distinctive curriculum covers nuclear energy processes, nuclear power plant installations and systems, nuclear safety, the reliability of nuclear facilities, and the regulatory and legislative framework governing nuclear activities. Students develop technical, analytical and problem-solving skills to assess system performance, manage operational risks and contribute to the safe, efficient and sustainable production of energy. The programme has held EUR-ACE® certification since the 2021–2022 academic year, confirming that it meets recognised European quality standards in engineering education. Graduates can pursue careers as nuclear installation engineers, nuclear power plant engineers, safety systems engineers, energy design engineers and specialists in the operation, maintenance or assessment of nuclear and energy facilities. Further opportunities are available through specialised master’s degree programmes.
