Building Services Engineering

The Master programme Building Services Engineering is focusing on advanced design and research in this area. It is oriented on collaboration with design companies and on research in different areas of building services, with an accent on complex systems that need to be designed and optimized technically and economical. At the Master level, students need to learn about Near Zero Buildings, Net Zero Buildings, Smart Homes and Smart Cities and also about national and European legislation on building directives. A part of the training is on Project Management and about the ways to handle a major project in the area of Building Services for complex projects. Communication is a key issue, as the future specialist needs to interfere with architects, civil engineers, clients. Another branch is the facility management where students will learn how to set a maintenance programme and solution to minimize the maintenance costs.
The students will be teach to measure and to calculate the energy consumption on yearly base for heating, warm water, ventilation and lighting for the building audit and ways to decrease this values. The students will learn how to design a complex Building Management System for building services.
