Program description

The Medicine program of “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMPCD) integrates both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees adding up to six years of courses, hands-on applications and clinical practice, totaling 360 ECTS. In the first two years students will accustom themselves with preclinical subjects in order to settle a baseline of knowledge for the following years. The clinical setting for the next four years is organized as hospital rounds of specific duration, depending on the subject.

The academic activity starts on 1st of October and is divided into 2 terms which are followed by exam session and holiday in the first two years. Regarding the next four years, exams are scheduled after each round, holidays following each term. At the end of the academic program, students are awarded the Doctor of Medicine degree.

Beside the academic curriculum, students are encouraged get involved in local organizations and working groups of different typologies to develop their leadership and teamwork abilities. Scientific development is greeted here, as they are welcomed to take part in medical manifestations and supported in organizing some themselves.
