Power Systems Management is a master’s degree programme designed to address both the classical challenges of operating electrical power systems and the new demands generated by the decarbonisation of electricity production and the integration of renewable energy sources. The programme also reflects the constraints and dynamics of today’s liberalised electricity market.
The programme aims to train highly qualified specialists capable of performing advanced operational, managerial, and research activities in the field of power systems. Graduates develop the ability to analyse and solve complex problems related to the digitalisation, monitoring, coordination, and control of electrical power networks and systems.
The curriculum covers topics such as measurement, control and protection circuits in substations, power quality, digital protection systems, power system operating regimes, and the management of electricity distribution companies. Master’s theses address current research and industry-relevant topics, often proposed in collaboration with companies or within university-led research projects.
