RAILWAY TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS

This master's programs mission is deepening knowledge in mechanical engineering field and obtaining complementary competences in the field of railway transport, equipment and specific structures used by this transport.
General objectives of the study program are professional skills training in the field of:
- Construction, operation, maintenance and repair;
- Design, modernization and development;
- Optimization of operation and movement;
- Safety, comfort and ride quality;
- Environmental impact;
- Use of advanced information technologies;
- Computer Simulation operation;
- Management of specific rail transport.

Competent knowledge, cognitive skills acquired:
- Knowledge of fundamental principles of rail transport systems, basics of management of quality in transport engineering and specific legislation;
- Analysis, calculation and design components of railway transport systems and data acquisition;
- Acquiring knowledge in the fields of calculus and dynamics of rail transportation systems, contact phenomena, the risk associated to these systems;
- Testing, diagnosis and maintenance of components of mechanical and electrical systems;
- Ensuring the safety and quality of rail transport;
- Modeling and simulation of dynamic phenomena in railway transportation etc.
