History

The undergraduate study programme - History - is one of the oldest programmes in our university, being founded in 1991. It offers to our potential students the best opportunities to study World History and Romanian History, since Alba Iulia is a historical place, with a lot of monuments and historical buildings. More than that, several important historical events took place here, the most important being, of course, the union of Transylvania with Romania, happened on 1st December 1918. Archaeological practice which took place every summer as well as our several laboratories, such as laboratory for ceramics restoration and metals consolidate and develop the overall quality of training of future History specialists. In addition, it can be said that the library of Alba Iulia Museum, together with the university library offer to our students several thousands of books, a part of them in English.
After graduating this programme, our former students will be able to find jobs as researchers, teachers of History, librarians, archivists or tourist guides.
