Computer Science

The mission of the Bachelor’s degree programme titled Computer Science (taught in English) is to prepare specialists in the domain of computers, aiming to use, develop and implement various computer systems and computer-based applications. The first three years of study assures a background for two directions, Computer Engineering and Communications and Software Engineering. In the fourth year of study, students can choose between these two directions. The Computer Science programme allows the students acquiring knowledge and developing skills that enable them to achieve:
- programming techniques and technologies, securing data and programs,
- designing and using of operating systems and databases,
- designing, implementation and using of computer networks,
- designing of computer equipment and integration of systems,
- building hardware, software and communications components using design methods, languages, algorithms, data structures, protocols and technologies,
- assessment of functional and nonfunctional characteristics of the hardware, software and communications components,
- spirit of initiative and action to update the professional knowledge, economic and organizational culture,
- teamwork skills and interdisciplinary cooperation.
