Bachelor programme (BA/ BSc)

FILM Faculty Bucharest

Program description

During the three years of undergraduate studies, students acquire and strengthen a solid theoretical foundation and apply it through sustained practical work. The curriculum combines courses in film studies with those in screenwriting, highlighting the close connections between the two fields. Through courses in film history, theory, and film analysis, students encounter the history of universal and Romanian cinematography. They develop critical thinking skills, gain the ability to analyze films, and put these skills into practice by writing film reviews and analytical essays. In screenwriting courses, students learn about the specialties and characteristics of a film screenplay, the history of screenwriting, and the profession of a screenwriter. They also acquire the basics of writing for TV formats and film adaptations. They are guided and advised in writing both short and feature-length scripts, familiarizing themselves with the various stages involved, as well as different structures, techniques, and methods for script development. Film production courses complement the curriculum, helping students understand the process of structuring, evaluating, and promoting a cinematic production.
