Proiect cofinantat din Fondul Social European prin Programul Operational Capital Uman 2014 – 2020
In this Master's program, students delve into the knowledge and understanding of screenwriting. Over the course of two years, theoretical aspects blend with hands-on practice. Participants in the Master's program study the history of screenwriting, the specificity of film scripts, and the possibilities for defining them. They also familiarize themselves with various cinematic narrative structures, approach specific genres, analyze the potential for adapting literary texts, and explore the types of scripts characteristic of television or VOD platforms (such as series, mini-series, etc.). The Screenwriting Master's program marks the transition from the mentoring system (used in the undergraduate program) to script doctoring. Year-by-year, professors guide and support students in finding their themes, styles, and narrative approaches, just as professional script doctors often do for seasoned industry screenwriters. At the end of each year of the Master's program, students have at least one feature-length screenplay in their portfolio. Additionally, they participate in workshops with professors, screenwriting theorists, and invited outside screenwriters, as well as internationally recognized practitioners. Like other programs at the Faculty, Master's students are encouraged to collaborate on vocational exercises conducted by students from other departments, acting as screenwriters, co-screenwriters, editors, and script doctors. The goal is to familiarize students with the role, context, and possibilities of their future profession through a process that diversifies perspectives, helping them crystallize their own vision and take steps toward their future careers as professional screenwriters.
