The Film Studies Master's program at UNATC is the only Romanian-language master's program specialized in film and media studies. The program spans over a duration of 2 years (full-time) and concludes with the completion of a dissertation based on original research in the field. The program aims to deepen the understanding of the latest trends in the study of film and contemporary visual media. It provides the necessary theoretical tools for analyzing film within its cinematic framework and beyond. Placing film within a rigorous historical perspective and the scope of its philosophical implications, the master's program cultivates the ability to navigate in an increasingly complex media landscape. Conducting studies within a vocational education institution like UNATC provides a vibrant, dynamic, and interdisciplinary framework, facilitating creative interaction between scientific research and practical application in the field. The courses and seminars approach film from a variety of theoretical and thematic perspectives. Among them are explorations of film aesthetics: "The Cinematic Canon: Debates and Revisions," formal analysis of cinema: "Formal Analysis of Cinema," examinations of cinema sociology: "Cinephilia in the Streaming Era," analyses of its historical context: "Romanian Cinema during the Socialist Period," and projections of film within a philosophical horizon: "Philosophy of Media.
