Phytosanitary Protection and Expertise

Mission: Training professionals and researchers with the necessary operational capacity for the development and evaluation of plant protection strategy assessment programs, through risk assessment and limitative treatment intervention.
Main objectives:

• Forming a current vision of the scientific bases and progresses obtained in plant protection technologies, phytosanitary treatment, control and expertise methods;
• Analysing current tendencies in the field of phytosanitary expertise, protection and European legislation;
• Participation in national and international programs regarding invasive species monitoring and control, for the elaboration of crop disease, pest and weed control, the use of satellite techniques in the assessment of climatic change impact;
• Acquiring modern methods and techniques for the evaluation of biotic populations, using prediction and statistic methods, as well as state of the art GIS programs;

• agricultural production, consultancy and expertise; 
• units selling products for phytosanitary treatment, fertilisers, seed material
• units specialized in collecting / processing / capitalizing agricultural products;
• implementing programs with national and international funding
