Proiect cofinantat din Fondul Social European prin Programul Operational Capital Uman 2014 – 2020
Genetic Engineering specialization is the only specialization in the country that train specialists in this field. Through the structure of the curriculum and the content of the analytical programs, the graduates of this specialization acquire thorough and extensive knowledge in the field of plant biotechnologies, industrial biotechnologies and molecular laboratory analyzes. In the field of plant biotechnology, the objectives are: micromultiplication, obtaining of plants from cell culture and tissues, obtaining and valorification of secondary metabolites from cell cultures, establishing the genotypes authenticity and / or genotyping, detection of genetically modified plants in agricultural and food products and plant breeding based on marker assisted selection. In the field of industrial biotechnology the objectives are oriented towards the food industry - qualitative analysis of soft drinks or beverages, use of microorganisms involved in lactic fermentation, pharmaceutical industry - research / production / testing of drugs, cosmetics industry - research / production of vegetable extracts used in cosmetics. Laboratory molecular analyzes are oriented to gene or mutation detection, genetic fingerprinting, food authentication, etc.
