Parallel and distributed computer systems

The program aims to prepare specialists in the domain of parallel and distributed computer systems. The subjects include theory, design, implementation and evaluation of modern parallel and distributed systems. Students will study the best solutions used in a domain that experiments, validates and promotes innovations leading to products on the top of the computer science and technology. The continuous increase of the application numbers that claim for rapid processing of large data volumes have stimulated the development of parallel and distributed solutions, which represent nowadays the norm, not the exception. This program aims to prepare highly skilled specialists to work in companies that develop production software and in academic and industrial research institutions.
Pre-requisites: Knowledge of programming languages, algorithms, operating system, computer networks, computer systems architectures.
At the end of the program, students will have knowledge and abilities regarding: parallel and distributed architectures (Cloud, Peer-to-Peer), solutions and new technologies for high performance computing, scalability, fault tolerance, security and others. They will be familiar with the design, development and evaluation of parallel and distributed systems and applications.
