Program description

The Master's program Modeling and Simulation in Mechanical Engineering provide during extensive studies both general and specific knowledge of Mechanical Engineering connected with the priorities mainly related to marine and offshore industry.

The general competences of the master programme are:
  • integrated design of mechanical systems based on integrated management of production, quality and reliability;
  • mechanical systems performances evaluation;
  • mechanical systems analysis and consulting;
  • expertise in project development and the impact of engineering solutions to social and environmental context;
Some specific competences of the Master degree program, are listed below:
  • skills in modeling and simulation of structures and mechanical systems with dedicated software;
  • skills in using experimental methods of mechanical;
  • skills in using complex models of material (composite materials);
  • skills in optimizing the shape and size of the mechanical structures loaded statically and dynamically – optimization using high performance software based on the finite element method;
  • skills in the numerical analysis of nonlinear phenomena with limit states (mechanical contact and fracture phenomena);
