Urban Design and Planning

The Faculty of Urbanism was established in 1997 within the Institute, now the “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urbanism, Bucharest, being the only higher education institution in Romania that trains urban planners, a new profession that has appeared in our country.

It is represented at European level by belonging to AESOP - Association of European Schools of Urban Planning and REA - Network of Schools of Architecture, Urbanism and Landscape of France, Central and Eastern Europe.

The curriculum reserves an important place for the preparation of architecture considering that the Romanian tradition as well as the current trends in terms of training in the field of urbanism and landscaping involve mastering the space with specific means. At the same time, the analytical program includes courses and activities that prepare graduates for specific problems (demography, statistics, topography, technical equipment, geographic information systems, information systems, urban economics, sociology, urban law, etc.).
