Management, Counselling and Psycho-Pedagogical Assistance in Inclusive Institutions

We are the first department of Special Education established in Romania! In 1960, at the initiative of Professor Alexandru Roșca, the Department of Defectology was founded at the "Babeș-Bolyai" University of Cluj-Napoca. After being dissolved between 1977 and 1989, the section resumed its activity in 1990 under the coordination of Professor Ioan Radu and then Professor Vasile-Liviu Preda. Many of our graduates have successful careers in various fields, working in special and inclusive educational institutions, non-governmental organizations and other institutions working for people with disabilities. Our department offers students and master students a modern training with a specific, but at the same time, multidisciplinary character.

This specialization assures professional and transversal competencies for the following professional qualifications: School counselor; Counselor in education; Career orientation counseling; Youth counselor; Specialist in youth activities; Specialist in education; Researcher in education and pedagogy; E-learning developer; Instructional designer.
