“Public and Clinical Health Psychology” master offers students a solid theoretical background regarding the interplay between health and illness with applications in clinical and public health domains. It aims to develop research, diagnostic and intervention skills to address, individual and environmental correlates of sanogenesis and pathogenesis. Students are involved in research and clinical projects aimed at fostering skills involved in designing interventions for risk behavior modification, for psychological assistance of patients with chronic conditions, and for promoting resilience of individuals/groups facing adversity and trauma. It also aims to build practical skills involved in psychodiagnostic and clinical assessment, counseling and personal development, prevention and management of somatic and mental health issues as well as promoting positive health and well-being. The master programme is aligned with World Health Organization’s recommendations of reducing psychosocial risk factors involved in somatic and mental health complaints and to promote salutogenetic factors for a holistic health.
