Program description

Following the reorganization of doctoral studies in Philosophy under the Regulation no. 23160 from 21st of October 2011 of Babeș-Bolyai University that relate to organization and coordination of the doctoral studies, the Doctoral School in Philosophy was established by the unification of hitherto existing doctoral schools within the Faculty of History and Philosophy. DSPh comprises annually over 50 Ph.D students and over 20 professors, scientific advisors and affiliated teachers as mentors. Inside the DSPh PhD can be conducted in Romanian, Hungarian or in a foreign language with international usage. The preparation of doctoral students in the domain of philosophy, as scientific doctorate is oriented in the following main research directions: phenomenology, semiology, hermeneutics, ethics, aesthetics, political philosophy, philosophy of culture and communication, history of philosophy, studies of ancient and medieval philosophy, Romanian or Hungarian philosophy. Doctoral studies in the DSPh are oriented to research characterized by applicative, inter- and transdisciplinary profile.
