Geofizică aplicată/ Applied geophysics

The main educational and research directions of the programme are advanced geophysical prospecting (seismic, gravimetric, magnetometric, and geoelectrical/ electromagnetic surveys), well logging/borehole geophysics, application of geophysical methods in environmental and archaeological studies, and the integrated interpretation of geophysical data for the identification–evaluation of hydrocarbon accumulations, groundwater resources, geothermal energy potential, and solid mineral deposits. Another major direction is represented by geophysical research in fundamental fields such as crustal and mantle geodynamics. The advanced training obtained by the graduates of the Applied Geophysics MSc programme provides a rapid insertion into the job market, both in geoscientific research organizations and in specialized industrial fields in Romania and abroad (e. g. energy, resources, environment).
