Bachelor programme (BA/ BSc)

Faculty of Letters Bucharest

Program description

Comparative Universal Literature—Foreign Language and Literature is one of the newest specializations of the Faculty of Letters, established in the academic year 2004-2005. Offering students a substantial cultural openness, the curriculum has been structured to capture unity in diversity, universal themes and motifs that correlate literatures, the inter- and transdisciplinary relationships of literature with the arts, philosophy, religion, mentalities, cultural anthropology, etc. The study of a foreign language is an absolutely necessary instrument for the specialization and ensures flexibility in the professional orientation of graduates.

Within this study direction, the major aim is to train researchers capable of operating comprehensively with literary texts. At the same time, students are prepared for a teaching career, as well as for professions such as editor, literary consultant, and translator.
