Overview

Translation and Interpreting

Bachelor programme (BA/ BSc)

Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures Bucharest

Program description

The undergraduate Translation and Interpretation program offers you the opportunity to study a combination of two modern languages A and B, chosen from: English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish (except for combinations between Italian and Spanish).

It's important to note that beginner groups are accepted for any of the languages, except for English.

The program starts from the idea that translation is a complex and multidisciplinary process within the family of interpretative practices. Therefore, a professional translator must be both knowledgeable and skilled in the techniques of understanding and translating text.

Translation is presented as a complex profession, involving both scientific rigor and artistic perception, as well as a pragmatic grounding in reality and a philosophical foundation. Consequently, the main contemporary critical perspectives and various methods of interpreting discourse are succinctly and essentialized, along with derived or corresponding translation techniques.
