Lucian Blaga University was founded in 1969. There are currently 9 faculties through which LBUS develops its activities:

-Faculty of Social and Human Sciences
-Faculty of Letters and Arts
-Faculty of Economic Sciences

- 91 bachelor programs, 120 masters programs, 14 Ph.D. fields
- 87 partnerships with foreign universities, 252 Erasmus bilateral agreements, 60 partner countries
Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu is situated in a medieval town, Sibiu, former European Capital of Culture in 2007. Sibiu is a touristic city, which becomes more and more international every year.
