Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE) - Be innovative, be proactive!
Founded in 1913, ASE is Romania’s largest university specializing in Economics and Business, with 25,000 students in 2025-2026. It ranks 1st  in Romania in the 2026 Times Higher Education World University Rankings and excels in Economics & Business subjects globally (QS and Shanghai Rankings).

ASE has 13 faculties offering undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs, including courses in foreign languages. Most Bachelor’s programs are 3 years (Law: 4 years), Master’s programs 2 years, also offering 2 MBAs in partnership with institutions from Canada and France.

ASE represents Romania as a leader in economics, business, and public administration study fields. It offers undergraduate and master's programs in foreign languages such as English, French, and German, and is a very foreign-friendly place. A more notable selling point is that ASE harbors more than 400 bilateral agreements with other universities from and outside the European Union. These partnerships allow ASE's community to participate in international mobilities. ASE has many partnerships with national and multinational companies allowing students to peek into the future of work, via internships and guest lectures.

ASE is institutionally accredited by ARACIS (the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education), which has awarded the university a “High Confidence” rating.

The University is also actively advancing toward obtaining AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation, further demonstrating its commitment to international standards of excellence in business education.

ASE is a member of the Universitaria Consortium, a partnership of leading Romanian universities, and is the founding institution of AFER - the Romanian Association of Faculties of Economics. Additionally, the University is an associate member of the CIVIS Alliance of European Universities.

The Students’ Association in Accounting and Management Information Systems - Financial Department (ASCIG) has been operating for approximately 12 years under the aegis of Bucharest University of Economic Studies.

Within the student NGO environment, ASCIG is a member of several local and national representative structures, including the Council of Student Organizations of ASE (COS ASE) and the National Alliance of Student Organizations in Romania (ANOSR).

ASCIG aims to serve as a key contributor to the professional and personal development of students from Bucharest universities through the projects and initiatives it organizes. Through close cooperation with its partners and trainers, the association has created a supportive environment that fosters both professional and personal growth for participants and organizational team members, primarily through specialized training and workshops.

The association operates through five dedicated departments: Educational, Financial, Human Resources, Marketing & IT, and Sales & Partnerships.

The Student Association of Agri-Food and Environmental Economics (ASEAM) was established in response to students recognizing the need for an organization within their faculty to strengthen the connection between the academic environment and the business sector.

Since September 2014, ASEAM has steadily expanded, welcoming an increasing number of members dedicated to developing innovative ideas and impactful projects.

The association is structured into four departments: Marketing & PR, IT & Logistics, Fundraising, and Human Resources. Students have the opportunity to choose the department in which they wish to be active, according to their interests and preferred field of activity.

ASEAM’s main projects and initiatives are closely aligned with the faculty’s areas of specialization and are designed to address the needs of its target audience. Looking ahead, the association aims to develop larger-scale projects and engage a broader audience.

Volunteers for Ideas and Projects (VIP) was established at the initiative of young people seeking to add value to student life and has since developed into a strong association with a complex and dynamic activity portfolio.

Guided by the motto “We believe in exceptional people” , VIP Romania provides young individuals with opportunities for development across various fields. For over 17 years, VIP - together with its four communities: Business Club, Econosofia, Leadership Development, and International Affairs - has consistently invested in education, creativity, and students who are continuously driven by innovation.

To better address the developmental needs of students, the organization is structured into six departments: Marketing, Business Development, Public Relations, Human Resources, Online, and Financial. In recent years, VIP has also expanded its activities to Cluj.

Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is the largest student association in Europe. Established on October 16, 1989, and legally registered in 1990, ESN is dedicated to supporting and enhancing student exchange programs.

The network is present in over 1,000 higher education institutions across 42 countries and continues to strengthen its reach and impact. It comprises approximately 15,000 active members across numerous local sections, supported by “buddies” who provide guidance and assistance to international students. Altogether, ESN engages around 40,000 young people and delivers services to approximately 350,000 international students worldwide.
