With a history of almost 100  years,  The University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca is the most important artistic higher education institution in Transylvania whose fundamental mission is  to  provide an education of highest quality to those intending to follow a carrier in the field of the visual arts. Tradition, creativity and innovation are key concepts in our philosophy, positioning our creation and research activities towards the investigation of the national and universal heritage, towards the observation of the contemporary (visual) culture and towards the examination of the most recent scientific theories and technologies. UAD is internationally known, especially since our graduates have become important names on the contemporary art scene.

Housing:

UAD owns two buildings for student housing located at the following addresses: One Student Dormitory in Al. Vaida Voievod Street no. 6 and One Student Dormitory in Albac Street no. 21. They can accommodate around 110 Romanian and internationalstudents. The rooms have 2 or 3 beds and one bathroom. Thekitchen and the washing machine are common, one for each floor.

ASUAD is a student union formed in 2010. It is the major association that represents the students at all levels within the management structures of the university. It has around 100 active members and develops important projects targeted towards the student community and their representation at local and national level.
