The University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova (UMFCV), by its faculties and specializations, is an academic institution in which the educational activity is preponderant, but it also hosts a remarkable scientific research activity. UMFCV provides high quality teaching and training activity, being the main actor in the field of medical training from the Oltenia region.

The UMFCV has more than 4400 students enrolled at four faculties: Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Nursing.

Studying at the UMFCV is the best choice for international students. Thus they have the opportunity to live in Craiova, an ancient city and one of the most importants from the south part of Romania.

The Faculty of Medicine has the following study programs: Medicine (6 years), Medicine in English (6 years). The Faculty of Dentistry has the following study programs: Dentistry (6 years), Dentistry in English (6 years), Dental Techniques (3 years). The Faculty of Pharmacy has the following study programs: Pharmacy (5 years), Cosmetics and Cosmetic Product Technology (3 years). Faculty of Nursing has the following study programs: Nursing (4 years), Balneo-physio-kinetotherapy (3 years), Radiology and imaging (3 years), Nutrition and dietetics (3 years).

Housing:

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova has a campus with shared facilities. In the campus there are 3 hostels where students are lodged.

Other relevant information:

The Dolj County Hospital, located near the campus, offers a wide range of free medical services to students. All foreign students are entitled to free consultations throughout their undergraduate studies, provided they hold a valid visa issued by the competent authorities. However, they may also consult a private practitioner at their own expense. Pharmacies can be found all over the town, and medications can be obtained with a prescription issued by a physician, except for OTC (over-the-counter) drugs.
